About Us

David Dohnal is the founder of Nocturnal Excursions, bringing decades of real-world experience in military operations, emergency medicine, protective security, and outdoor adventure to every experience he creates.

A former Fleet Marine Force Corpsman, National Guard Infantryman, and worldwide protective security medic, David has worked in some of the most demanding environments on earth — including Iraq, Afghanistan, Ukraine, and Israel. Throughout his career, he provided emergency medical support, conducted protective security operations, and trained alongside elite military and security teams worldwide.

David is also a nationally certified paramedic and critical care provider with advanced training in tactical medicine, reconnaissance support, avalanche rescue, long-range shooting, and combat casualty care.

Beyond his military and medical background, David has spent much of his life immersed in extreme outdoor environments. He served as a ski patroller in Alaska and Washington, performed avalanche control work in mountain terrain, and competed in both the U.S. Olympic Speedskating Trials and U.S. Olympic Cycling Trials.

Today, David combines his passion for adventure, technology, and education through Nocturnal Excursions — offering immersive night vision experiences and training that introduce people to a world few ever get to see.
